Pregnancy diary
May 27, 2008 at 11:48 am | In Uncategorized | 6 CommentsI have to admit: I have not started any kind of pregnancy diary. I am not quite a quarter of the way through my pregnancy- so I still have some time but Iam stuck trying to decide if I should just keep a journal- in a blank book- or if Ishould buy a fancy pregnancy organizer/diary that will “lead” me through the process of journaling the events of my pregnancy. On some leavel I would like to scrapbook the events- from all the fertility “crap” and the OB visits and some of the cards and e-mails I’ve gotten to all the physical manifestations, etc… I also know that if I rely on this method of “historical documentation”- I will never have a record of my time as a pregnant woman! Did any of you mom’s out there keep any kind of diary/record of your pregnancy? and those of you who are expecting- do you or will your keep a diary of some kind??

I bought one of those commercial pregnancy calendar journals. Otherwise I never would have organized my thoughts.
Unfortunately, it went down in Katrina.

I basically just blogged it all. I figured if I wanted to do something with it later I had it all in the blog. Pictures too. (Though with all my ups and downs with IF I didn’t have the urge to do anything but curl up in a little ball.) I am so happy for you I can’t stand it! I’m not really jealous, I just want to know EVERYTHING you’re experiencing. And the thoughts running around in your head. After a three year pregnancy I think I’m finally in the third trimester, heh. As for the assimilation of the sewing room? We’ve just started the “If we haven’t used it in a year, toss it, with exception of seasonal stuff.” We are really pairing down and I thought I’d miss some of it but really, I don’t. You need to get a digital camera or a scanner! I want to see that room and you of course!
I miss you tons, honey.
Love ya!!!

I don’t know when or if I’m ever going to encourage Paul to help me move the stuff out of the back room to paint. As for the journal, I have four blogs. I don’t have time for a journal. But I’m pretty honest in my personal blog, so… I guess that about covers things.

They didn’t have blogging 8 years ago like they do now . I journaled but it was mostly the stuff I was going through with her dad. I only remember bits and pieces of the actual pregnancy. I remember certain things…like I never felt better in all my life (after the first trimester)…possibly because I was taking prenatal vitamins
If you want to remember every detail, buy a diary/organizer because once the baby is out…your memory goes! I was ditzy before Grace, but never this ditzy.

I just kept it in my head, so nope, I can’t remember day 75 of my pregnancies, but I remember the big picture, the working out, craving milk when normally I’m not so fond of it, pickles and cottage cheese, feeling the baby move, reading everything I could get my hands on regarding what was going on at that moment, drinking herb tea and eating protein, its all in there, and I don’t know that they would want a whole diary of their life at that point.

I was terrible at the journaling and baby book thing. One of my fav blog writers posts a letter to her children monthly that is very nice and a great way, I think, to keep it. I regret now that they are growing up so fast not having written it all down.
